COSOPAX meeting in Bukavu after the official project closure in 2019
From May 4th to 5th, 2022, COSOPAX delegates convened for their first in-person meeting, facilitated by CRS and supported by local leadership. Representing Uvira & Bukavu in the DRC, Bujumbura in Burundi, and Cyangugu in Rwanda, the eleven delegates—comprising six women, four men, and a justice and peace commission representative—gathered.
Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 on their families and finances, the meeting served as a valuable opportunity for reconnecting, welcoming new members, shared learning, and mutual encouragement. By the workshop's conclusion, they reaffirmed their dedication to advancing cohesive communities through actions promoting justice and solidarity.
